Hypnosis – it’s all a bit “woo woo” isn’t it?
Actually no…
Hypnosis is supported by science and is gaining more acceptance in mainstream medical care. The British Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association recognise hypnosis as potent and effective.
As a member of the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis I am dedicated to staying updated with the latest advancements in the field.
The way I like to think about it, is to think of our brain as being trapped in a dark box and totally dependent on information from our senses. I also find it useful to think of it as functioning as two parts: the unconscious - which actually runs the show, and the conscious which is the small part we're actually aware of.
It is estimated that our unconscious part of the brain processes more than 12 million bits of sensory information per second!
However, our conscious part of the brain only processes a mere 60 bits of information per second.
So, we’re only ever aware of a very tiny proportion of the sensory information that’s flowing through our brain at any moment.
The choices we make are decided upon by our unconscious mind... long before we are consciously aware of them!
When performed effectively, hypnosis can provide us with a gateway to access our unconscious, influencing the unconscious decisions we make to achieve our objectives.
Hypnosis is not done to you, it is done with you and we both have active parts to play in the process
It is a bit like when you want to find better ways to use your computer, so you get an expert to work through it with you, giving you better ways to change things and get the results you want. Once you've discussed the necessary changes with the expert, you grant them access to your systems and drives. You always retain control over what changes are made, even if you're not entirely sure how it all happens. Then, you go away and enjoy using the upgraded system.
I have a pragmatic approach to hypnosis, using proven technologies and methodologies, supported by NLP and CBT, for fast and effective results.
No two people are alike; so no two sessions should be alike. All sessions are carried out using an online video calling platform and each session is tailored to work with your individual processes to meet your needs.
If you are looking for a relaxing chat to help you drift off to sleep with soft spoken words, incense, and tranquil whale sounds, this probably isn't the place you're looking for.
(I could do this for you if you really wanted, but I would suggest that a better use of your time and resources is for me to teach you how to relax and/or sleep easily whenever you want to).
If however
there is something you want to get better at (sports, confidence, skills acquisition, resilience etc) ,
or
you have an issue or specific problem you want to deal with, (including but not limited to the usual culprits – smoking, anxiety, PTSD weight control, phone/social media addiction etc),
then
I have the skills to enable you to make those changes rapidly and easily.
